2022 ITG New Works Winners

The International Trumpet Guild (ITG)  is pleased to announce the composers and performers who have been selected to present works at 2022 ITG Conference in San Antonio, Texas, which will be held May 31 – June 4, 2022. This year, the ITG New Works Committee received 82 submissions from all around the world, and from this extensive list, selected 9 new works for performance at this year's conference. Our committee thanks all of the composers and performers for their submissions and for their efforts at expanding our instrument’s repertoire.

Clint Linkmeyer to Eastern Mennonite University

Clinton Linkmeyer has been appointed instructor of trumpet at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Virginia.  In addition, he was also recently appointed 2nd trumpet in the Waynesboro Symphony Orchestra (WSO) in Waynesboro, Virginia. He will also serve as assistant stage manager for the WSO.

In Memoriam: Kenneth Bloomquist (1931–2021)

Kenneth G. Bloomquist, former Professor of Trumpet and Bands at the University of Kansas (Lawrence) and later Director of Bands and Director of the School of Music at Michigan State University (East Lansing), passed away peacefully after a bout with cancer on August 6, 2021, just short of his 90th birthday.
