The American Brass Quintet in concert at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater at The Juilliard School, 60 Lincoln Center Plaza, New York, NY 10023 (USA).  The ABQ members are Kevin Cobb and Louis Hanzlik, trumpets?; Eric Reed, French horn?; Michael Powell, trombone?: John D. Rojak, bass trombone.  Also performing are special guests Raymond Mase and David Wakefield?, assisted by trombonist John Elizondo and bass trombonist Simon Wood.  Recipients of Chamber Music America's highest honor, the Richard J. Bogomolny Award for their significant and lasting contribution to the chamber music field, the American Brass Quintet performs works from the ever-changing brass chamber music repertoire--works often commissioned or unearthed and arranged by members of the Quintet as part of their efforts to promote the brass quintet as a significant chamber music form. Founded in 1960 and Juilliard's resident brass ensemble since 1987, the ABQ has been hailed as "the high preists of brass" (Newsweek) and "positively breathtaking" (New York Times).  This program is presented in honor of ABQ members emeriti Raymond Mase (41 years) and David Wakefield (38 years).
