The Indiana University Brass Choir, under the direction of Edmund Cord, in concert at Auer Hall on the IU Campus, Bloomington, IN (USA).   From Professor Cord: "You are cordially invited to the second Spring 2014 Concert of the Indiana University Brass Choir: "The IU Connection".  We begin with a brief Fanfare by Leonard Bernstein, who spent six weeks on campus in 1982.    Thomas Beversdorf was on the IU composition and trombone faculties for thirty years, during   which time he wrote his Cathedral Music.  Next is a piece written by current faculty member Donald Freund entitled "Aftertunes (...the following episodes)". The ever-popular Vermont Suite by the legendary Al Cobine is featured next, followed by Red Tango by IU Brass Choir alum, tubist and composer Rob Teehan.  After a brief intermission we will present the Fanfare for UNICEF by Bernard Heiden. IU Brass Faculty member and Canadian Brass Alum Jeffrey Nelsen is the featured soloist in the next two works: Stardust, by the great Hoagy Carmichael, and the Canadian Brass Dectet by Michael Kamen. We end with the dramatic five-movement suite entitled Blind Time, written for the IU Brass Choir by the late Jacobs School of Music composer Fred Fox.

We look forward to seeing you Sunday, March 30th, at 6:00 PM in Auer Hall.
