ITG Announces Major Conference Competition Changes

Each year at its annual conference, the International Trumpet Guild (ITG) hosts several divisions of competition as part of the Ryan Anthony Memorial Trumpet Competition.

In 2023, the Ryan Anthony Memorial Trumpet Competition will undergo major changes, which will include:

-A new Chamber Music Division, open to groups of 3-10 of any instrumentation that includes trumpet

-New Semi-Final Rounds; This year ITG will invite up to 15 performers to a new semi-final round for Solo, Orchestral Excerpts, Wind Band, Jazz, and Chamber Music Divisions (Previously only three students were invited to compete at the conference)

-Discounted conference registration fee of $75 for all semi-finalists

-Solo Division prescreen (recorded) round no longer has required repertoire, allowing students to submit their current solo they are working on at their university.

ITG is excited to provide these new opportunities, and looks forward to having more students involved in the 2023 Ryan Anthony Memorial Trumpet Competition. 

The semi-final and final rounds will be held as part of the 2023 ITG Conference in Minneapolis, MN, May 30 - June 3, 2023.
