In Memoriam: Jerome Callet (1930-2019)

ITG has learned of the passing of trumpet player and brass instrument maker Jerome Callet.

He had developed a reputation as a designer of brass mouthpieces, trumpets, and trombones. He also was well-regarded as a teacher, especially that of teaching the brass player's embouchure. He authored books including Trumpet  Yoga (1971), Superchops (1987), and Trumpet Secrets (2001). He traveled all over the world, conducting clinics in the United States, Canada, Germany, Finland, Switzerland, France, Denmark, Hungary, and Japan. Mr. Callet was born April 24, 1930 in Pittsburg, PA, and died May 13, 2019 in New York.
