The International Trumpet Guild (ITG) sponsors several on-going competitions and contests that offer cash prizes and scholarships. Official rules supersede the brief descriptions on this page. Official rules are available at appropriate times for each event in printed format or may be downloaded from this site.

Ellsworth Smith International Trumpet Solo Competition. (Sponsored by ITG and the Columbus Foundation of Columbus, Ohio).$11,000 total prizes. Held once every three years. Next competition to tentatively set for October 9-13, 2008 at Boston University, Boston, Massachusetts USA, with specific information and rules expected to be published in early 2007. ITG Youth Competition. The ITG, in its efforts to encourage young performers, presents two competitions for players of all soprano brass instruments (trumpet, cornet, flugelhorn, E-flat cornet) In 2005 monetary prizes will be awarded in one age category only: Under 18 on February 15 of the competition year.
