Axiom Brass Summer Seminar 2007 - please click image for bigger version

University and high school students from ten different states across the USA gathered at the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith campus for the annual Axiom Brass Summer Seminar featuring guest artist international trumpet soloist Vince DiMartino. The seminar took place from June 24th to 30th 2007.

Students of the Axiom Brass Quintet performed in large brass choirs, small chamber groups, and worked closely with Axiom and Vince in masterclasses on Performance Anxiety, Power of Goal Setting, Efficient Practice Habits, and Peak Performance Techniques. Participants also attended daily warm-up sessions, brass fundamental classes, and several concerts presented during the week. 

With the Axiom Brass Seminar’s concerts open to the public, over 1,000 community members attended the performances.  The seminar kicked off with a night of brass quintet music by the Axiom Brass.  Other performances included a concert by the River Valley Community Band featuring Vince and Axiom, a Thursday night jam session with Vince and the Brass, and the closing chamber and brass choir concerts featuring students of the Brass Seminar.

The Axiom Brass Seminar was generously sponsored by the Yamaha Corporation, Arvest Bank, Sigler Music and Saeid Music Company.  Members of the Axiom Brass are trumpeters Dorival Puccini and Steven Marx, hornist Nick Murdick, trombonist Henry Henniger, and tubist Kevin Sanders.
