In June 2007 Maurice Murphy, principal trumpet of the London Symphony Orchestra (LSO), retired after thirty years in the post. The LSO released, very shortly after Murphy's retirement, a podcast called Maurice Murphy: Beyond the Legend. Presented by broadcaster Tommy Pearson, and with contributions from a veritable galaxy of musicians, the forty-minute programme makes an excellent memento of Murphy's long and interesting career.
