Butler with Towson faculty and guests after her recital |
Northwestern University Professor Barbara Butler was the featured guest artist for the 2007 Baltimore Trumpet Fest presented by the Baltimore Trumpet Guild and hosted by Luis Engelke and Towson University. Rene Hernandez, Associate Principal Trumpet of the Baltimore Symphony; Phil Snedecor, Principal Trumpet of the Harrisburg Symphony; and jazz artist and Towson University Professor Dave Ballou also presented outstanding recitals and master classes.
Butler’s world-class recital included Joe Ferruzzo’s Concertino for Trumpet and Piano, Vladimir Peskin's Konzert No. 1 in C minor, Eino Tamberg’s Concerto, and Dana Wilson's Masks. Her informative master class titled "The Difference Between Good and Excellent" included many characteristics and qualities that her most successful students have shared.
