The new web site for the 2007 Carmine Caruso International Jazz Trumpet Solo Competition is now live. With an application deadline of 30th June not so far off, readers are encouraged to visit the site for more details of timetable, eligibility and all other aspects of this major competition. The three-yearly Caruso is sponsored by the ITG, in cooperation with the Herb Alpert Foundation, and this year takes place at the University of Arizona in early November. Total prize money is US$15,000. The 2007 competition is hosted by Edward Reid and Jeffrey Haskell and chaired by Vince DiMartino and Laurie Frink.
