Peter Knudsvig, longtime Co-Principal Trumpet of the Hofer Symphoniker and First Trumpet of Rekkenze Brass, has been appointed Artist-Teacher of Trumpet at Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota for the coming (2007) academic year. Dr. Knudsvig will be vacating his position in the orchestra but will be continuing with Rekkenze Brass.

Born and raised in Williston, North Dakota, Knudsvig received his Bachelor of Music from Concordia College and his Master and Doctorate of Music from The Catholic University of America, concurrently playing first trumpet in The US Army Band, Washington, DC. He has performance experience on three continents including the National Ballet Orchestra, USA, the Cape Town Symphony Orchestra, South Africa, and the Hofer Symphoniker in Bavaria, Germany. As well as playing in Rekkenze Brass, one of Europe's leading brass ensembles, Knudsvig is also its chief arranger: many of his arrangements are available through Editions BIM and De Haske Publications. Knudsvig was also a founding member of the European Trumpet Guild where he served as first Interim President. No stranger to academia, he was a Professor of Music at the College of Charleston, South Carolina, and later at Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio, and has served as a brass instructor for the Bayreuth Youth Festival.
