The ITG's Appalachian Valley Chapter hosted a clinic on October 28, 2006 at the Hermann Fine Arts Center of Marietta College, Marietta, Ohio.

The featured clinician was John Schlabach, professor of trumpet at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. He is very active as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician as well as clinician, and has had many pedagogy articles published in the ITG Journal and other leading journals. Schlabach earned degrees from Northwestern and Western Illinois Universities.

The chapter's next event will feature Greg Wing, trumpet professor at Morehead State University in Morehead, Kentucky. Greg will present an afternoon clinic and evening concert with the Smoot Theater Big Band on Friday, January 19th, 2007 at the Historic Smoot Theater in Parkersburg, West Virginia.
