Eric Baker recently won the position of Co-Principal Trumpet of the Midland-Odessa Symphony and Lone Star Brass Quintet in Texas. Mr. Baker began duties in August, 2006.

Baker received his BME degree in 2004 from the University of Texas-Arlington where he studied with Rick Bogard. He then studied with David Hickman at Arizona State University where he received his MM degree in 2006.

During his master’s degree, Mr. Baker was an active freelance trumpeter in the Greater Phoenix area and was Director of Bands at Tri-City Christian Academy in Tempe. He is a recipient of the Doc Severinsen Fellowship Award and a Regents’ Music Scholarship at ASU. He is the co-designer and maker of the new Sotto Voce trumpet straight mute sold through Hickman Music Editions.
