Richard Rulli, Contest Chair, writes to announce that the 2006 International Trumpet Guild Composition Contest committee has come to the following decision:

• First Prize: Nobody Move by Sam Stalos of Dallas, Texas
• Second Prize: Yearnings of Prophets by Daniel Thrower of Phoenix, Arizona

The category of composition for this year's competition was solo trumpet with choir. There were a total of sixteen compositions submitted by composers from the United States, England, Belgium, Sweden, and Canada.

Judges for this competition were:

• John Aley, Professor of Trumpet, University of Wisconsin-Madison
• Wiff Rudd, Professor of Trumpet, Baylor University
• Michael Marcades, Director of Choral Activities, Columbus State University, Georgia

The two award-winning compositions will be premiered at the 2006 ITG Conference at Rowan University.
