Dear ITG friends,
Please allow us to inform you about an upcoming event which might be of interest for you. The Institute f. Wiener Klangstil (IWK / Musical
Acoustics) (http://www.bias.at) organizes an international workshop on the weekend around August 27th, 2005, dealing with most modern scientific methods and tools for the computation, reconstruction and optimization of wind instruments. Although the workshop is meant to complement the program of the European conference „Forum Acusticum“ in Budapest taking place in the week after, this does not imply any obligatory connection. For those participating in both events we have chartered a hydrofoil for Sunday, 28th of August.
On Friday evening, 26th of August, there will be an opportunity to informally meet lecturers and other participants at the welcome party. There you will find a buffet with beer and some music at the new Campus of the University for Music.
The schedule for Saturday, August 27th, includes invited lectures of well-known international experts in the related fields and a round table discussion about the subjects: “Financing European research projects through the 6th and 7th EU frame work program” as well as “Making available scientific results and tools to wind instrument manufacturers”.
If you are interested to participate in EU-funded projects or if you would like to co-operate with national or international research organisations then you could most probably benefit from attending the workshop just as some future partner would benefit. If you are interested but cannot come for one or another reason, then please inform us in writing. We will then make your position known in the discussions and can send you a summary of the results after the workshop.
Please check our workshop page http://bias.at/ViennaTalk2005 for more details. There you can also register online. If you prefer to do this the conventional way then please use our contact information below to call us in order to send you a registration form and the payment modalities.
