Marc Reed October 2013 tour

Dr. Marc Reed, Associate Professor of Trumpet at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado and Dr. Kristín Jónína Taylor, Associate Professor of Music- Keyboard Area Coordinator at Waldorf  College in Forest City, Iowa performed at several universities in Kansas and Missouri, October 15-17, 2013.

The duo performed in Columbia, Missouri on Tuesday October 15th for Dr. Iskander Akhmadulin’s trumpet studio at the University of Missouri. MU students Ethan Cartee played Clarke's The Debutante, and Austin Walker performed Bernstein's Rondo for Lifey in a masterclass for Reed. 

They played a recital for Steve Leisring and his students at the University of Kansas on October 16th. Reed spoke with Keith Benjamin’s trumpet class on October 17th about his experiences since leaving graduate school, and the duo presented a recital later that evening. The program they performed at all three schools consisted of Halsey Stevens Trumpet Sonata, Richard Peaslee Nightsongs, James Stephenson Silent Echos, Frédéric Chopin Grand Waltz Brilliante, and Robert Russell Bennett Rose Variations. The trip was funded by Fort Lewis College and the Conn-Selmer Corporation.
