The Macedonian Trumpet Association has been launched, with opera first trumpet and college professor Vaso Ristov as its president. Its objectives include the promotion of competitions, concerts, master-classes, workshops, and open discussions; improvements in communications with local and foreign trumpet players; the development of a library of recent contemporary music for trumpet; a directory of all trumpet players from Macedonia; and publishing a bulletin for members. The Association also supports the publication of trumpet books and other literature associated with the trumpet, and sound recordings of Macedonian trumpet artists.
