Sojara Brass Quintet

The Sojara Brass Quintet has been invited by the Mapfre-Foundation of Las Palmas (Canary Islands, Spain) to perform fifteen school concerts in Gran Canaria between January and June 2005. The quintet also played concerts in Las Palmas, Teror and Carrizal in January/February (Island of Gran Canaria), also a benefit concert for the victims of the Asian Tsunami at the Green Cave on Lanzarote, and they performed a concert in April in Puerto de La Cruz on Tenerife.

The quintet's members are Gran Canaria Philarmonic principals, Jose Zarzo (horn), Ismael Betancor (trumpet), Germán Hernández (tuba); the other two members are Sebastián Gil (Canarias Superior Conservatory and substitute in Gran Canaria Philarmonic and Tenerife Symphonic) and Juan Bosco (director of Music, Teror Academy and substitute in Gran Canaria Philarmonic). Jose Zarzo is also a member of the Ensemble Isola which can be heard on Crystal CDs 771 and 772.
