Composer Karel Husa’s Concerto for Brass Quintet and Orchestra was recently televised throughout Europe in a performance by Spanish Brass Luur-Metalls and the Madrid Symphony Orchestra. In 2004, Luur-Metalls also took the work on tour to the symphony orchestras of Granada and Cordoba.

Most recently, Mr. Husa has created a new version of the work for bass trombone in place of tuba. The Concerto for Brass Quintet and Orchestra is also available in Sextet version (by the composer) for brass quintet and piano.

The original version of the work and the sextet version are published by Alphonse Leduc, Paris.

Soloists, ensembles and orchestras worldwide are celebrating the 85th birthday of Karel Husa during both the 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons.
