2004 Ohio Trumpet Workshop participants

Ohio Trumpet Workshop artists/clinicians Peter Bond and John Schlabach

The sixth annual Ohio Trumpet Workshop was held on the campus of Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, USA last June. The weeklong workshop attracted 28 high school participants from Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Indiana, and New York. The director of the workshop is John Schlabach, trumpet professor at Ohio University. The co-clinician was Peter Bond, 3rd trumpet in the New York Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. Participants attended a recital presented by the clinicians as well as warm-up and master class sessions, small group applied lessons, listening sessions, career and college seminars, and other related activities. The workshop’s goal is to give students the means to sustain musical growth well beyond their week on campus. For details about next year’s workshop contact John Schlabach at schlabac@ohio.edu.
