ITG member Gary Leopold has recently been appointed Instructor of Trumpet at Texas A & M University in Kingsville where he will begin a one-year appointment as trumpet professor and a member of the faculty brass quintet. Just prior to this, Mr. Leopold was teaching trumpet and jazz ensembles at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff.

Gary Leopold received his Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Kansas and his Master of Arts in Music degree at Washington State University before continuing study with David R. Hickman at Arizona State University where he is currently completing his Doctor of Musical Arts degree. His dissertation project is titled "A Comprehensive Annotated Bibliography of Trumpet Articles from Music, Medical, and Scientific Periodicals."

Mr. Leopold was a Graduate Teaching Assistant at ASU from 1998 - 2000. He taught trumpet, jazz, and marching band at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville from 2000 - 2003. He has performed with the Arizona Ballet Orchestra, Arizona Opera Orchestra, Flagstaff Symphony, Dubuque Symphony, and numerous professional jazz ensembles. Additional teachers include David Turnbull and William Campbell.
