Leonardo Maniscalco, trumpet player with the Rome Opera House orchestra, has published two books of trumpet etudes. La sonorità e la tecnica, vols 1 and 2, is published by Esarmonia at €14.46 and €11.36 (about US$18.60 and $14.50). The books are further described as "Daily exercises for the development of sonority and technique in the study of the trumpet" and have already received favourable reviews in "Giornale della Musica" and "I Fiati".

Maniscalco comments: "If you find it opportune to use them with your students in their daily practice, I will be delighted that my modest work will have been useful in overcoming some technical difficulties, although its dominant idea is to play with musicality and passion in every moment of daily practice, on every technical level." He aims to better cultivate "our virtuosic sense, beautiful tone and artistic style" and at the same time, "to give all technical studies a little melodic dignity".
