John Wallace is to give the world premiere of Stuart MacRae's new trumpet concerto Interact with the London Sinfonietta at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSAMD), Glasgow, on Friday May 9th, and the English premiere will take place the next night, Saturday May 10th, at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, London.

The two concerts, both called Trumpets! have the same core programme - a high-trumpet-content evening of contemporary music - but are accompanied by offerings varying somewhat between the two cities. For full details please see the websites listed below.

Both concerts also feature the Uzbek trumpets, flutes and drums ensemble "Abbos" in or near the main concert, and Caltech student Lisa Edelman just before it. The London concert includes an all-comers brass ensemble at 2.00 and free concerts at 5.30 and 6.30. Please see the news links below for separate stories on these.
