Michael Arndt to Middle Tennessee State University

Michael Arndt has been appointed to the permanent position of Assistant
Professor of Trumpet at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro.
For the past year, he served in a one-year position at that school.
Arndt is completing his DMA in Trumpet Performance at Arizona State
University where he is a student of Regents' Professor David Hickman.
Mike served for two years as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Trumpet
at ASU. He has performed with the Nashville Symphony, Cincinnati
Symphony, Breckenridge Music Festival Orchestra, Tres Elements,
Arndt-Loucky Trio, and is a an active soloist and clinician.
Michael Arndt received his BM degree in 1995 at the University
of Missouri - Kansas City, where he was a student of Keith Benjamin.
He then studied with Gary Bordner and David Baldwin at the University
of Minnesota where he received his MM degree in 1998. He was employed
by The Instrumentalist magazine from 1998 to 2000.

Andrew Goodrich to Michigan State University
ITG member Andrew Goodrich has recently accepted a one-year position
as Instructor of Music Education and Jazz Studies at Michigan State
University. He will begin duties in August, 2003.
Goodrich is a candidate for the DMA degree in Music Education at
Arizona State University where he was a Graduate Teaching Assistant
in Jazz Studies and also Music Education. His trumpet teachers include
David Hickman and Thomas Cook.
Before attending Arizona State University in 1998, Andrew taught
at Billings (Montana) Central High School for four years, and St.
Joseph's Elementary School in Missoula, Montana for one year. A
native of Missoula, Montana, he received his BME degree at the University
of Montana, and his MM degree in Jazz from Arizona State University.
Goodrich is an active jazz and chamber music performer, clinician,
and adjudicator in the Phoenix area.

Gary Leopold to Northern Arizona University
Gary Leopold has been named to a one-year position as Assistant
Professor of Trumpet at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff,
Arizona. He will begin duties there on August 15, 2003.
Mr. Leopold received his BM in trumpet performance from the University
of Kansas where he was a student of David Turnbull. He continued
graduate work with Turnbull at Washington State University where
he was a Graduate Assistant with the marching band.
After completing his MA degree in 1997, Mr. Leopold pursued his
DMA at Arizona State University where he was a Graduate Teaching
Assistant under Regents' Professor David R. Hickman. He has performed
with the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra and many other professional
ensembles.
From August, 2000 through July, 2003 Mr. Leopold served as an Assistant
Professor of Trumpet and Bands at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
He plans to complete his DMA degree in May, 2004.
