On November 16th 2003 Belgium's finest brass band, Brass Band Midden-Brabant, under the direction of conservatory trumpet teacher and recording trumpet soloist Benny Wiame, played two concerts featuring the American trumpet virtuoso Allen Vizzutti.

On Sunday morning Brass Band Midden-Brabant (BBMB) started with an educational concert for the teachers and students of the Conservatory in Oostende, Belgium. The main purpose of the concert was to introduce the whole family of brass instruments to the younger students of the Conservatory - and what an introduction they received! They heard one of the world's very best trumpet virtuosi together with one of Belgium's top brass bands. Next year's brass class at the Conservatory in Oostende is now expected to be bursting with new, inspired students...

In the evening, the concert hall of the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, Belgium, was packed to see and hear BBMB perform a mix of entertainment pieces, the test pieces for the upcoming Belgian National Brass Band Championships, and of course for the world-famous Allen Vizzutti.

The program for this gala concert included Partita by Philip Sparke, Un vie de Matelot by Robert Farnon, Concerto for 2 Trumpets by Antonio Vivaldi, and various works for solo trumpet featuring Allen Vizzutti.

After the first opening pieces by the band, Benny Wiame joined Allen Vizzutti on piccolo trumpet in the Concerto for 2 Trumpets by Antonio Vivaldi, specially arranged for the occasion by Kevin Houben, a young and talented musician/conductor/arranger who has just recently joined the band.

From the very start it was clear that Mr. Vizzutti was in top shape and that this was going to be an evening to remember.

After the performance of Vivaldi's music, Allen Vizzutti dazzled the audience with the Trumpet Concerto by Harry James. After the intermission, a brilliant rendition by Vizzutti of his well known composition The Rising Sun, followed. The breathtaking performance presented totally different musical styles played effortlessly and with an incredible mastery on the different instruments (piccolo trumpet, flugelhorn, Bb trumpet).

The audience went wild, and were thanked by Allen Vizzutti with three spectacular encores.
