L-R: Brice Winston, Jessé Sadoc, Terence Blanchard, Steve Turre

There were some great jazz nights at the TIM Festival, Rio de Janeiro, from 30th October to 1st November! On the first night, trombone player Steve Turre joined pianist McCoy Tyner.

The second night was the turn of the trumpets: Mr Terence Blanchard performed tunes from his album "Bounce" with tenor sax player Brice Winston, and Brazilian trumpeter Jessé Sadoc played with pianist and composer Luis Avellar.

The Avellar set featured a quartet (trumpet, piano, bass and drums), playing in various styles: samba, latin, and jazz. Nearly all the tunes were Luis Avellar compositions, except Saudade dos aviões da Pannair by the famous Brazilian singer and composer Milton Nascimento.
