In July the Gomalan Brass Quintet was on tour in North America.
The quintet played two concerts in Canada (Saint John and Dalhousie
International chamber music festivals, New Brunswick) and then visited
Tanglewood, Massachusetts, for a concert and a masterclass organized by
former Canadian and Empire Brass member David Ohanian.
The tour gave the Gomalans a busy time, with four
events in four days followed immediately by a five-concert tour
of Italy. Any fatigue they may have felt seems not to have been
apparent to the audiences, who enjoyed the quintet's Italian style,
opera, film tunes, jokes and bilingual English-French presentation.
The Gomalan Brass will be back in the USA in January 2004, visiting
Memphis (Tennessee), Denville (New Jersey) and New York.
