Patrick McGinthy
Patrick McGinthy, a junior trumpet performance major at the University of Missouri, has just been named the 2002 Yamaha Young Performing Artist for trumpet. As part of his award, Patrick will perform Torelli's Concerto in D for an audience of over 2000 people at the Bands of America/Yamaha Summer Symposium, to be held at Illinois State University in June.

Patrick's trumpet professor, Stephen K. Bottom, was the YYPA on trumpet in 1994. They are believed to be the first teacher-student winner combo in the history of this competition.
