Ray Sasaki has accepted an appointment as Professor of Trumpet at the University of Texas at Austin, effective September 2001. Mr. Sasaki will replace Prof. Ray Crisara, who is retiring at the end of a distinguished career.

Dan Williams of Sydney, Australia, has accepted a position with the Rekkenze Brass (Germany). Williams will assume his duties in the Rekkenze Brass in the Fall.

David Krauss has been appointed Principal trumpet of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. At the age of 29, he replaces Melvin Broiles and shares the co-principal position with Mark Gould.

Mr. Krauss recieved his BB and MM from the Juilliard School as a student of Chris Gekker, William Vacchiano and James Pandolfi. Prior to his position with the Met, he freelanced in Manhattan - performing regularly with many ensembles including The Orchestra of St Luke's, Orpheus, New York Philharmonic and the New Jersey Symphony. Mr. Krauss currently teaches trumpet at Columbia University.
