| Lindemann Departs Canadian Brass | June 18, 2001 |
| Canadian trumpet virtuoso Jens Lindemann has returned to his international solo career after five fabulous years with the renowned Canadian Brass. Jens is already busily preparing recordings and concerts for the upcoming season. Some of the highlights will include a CD of the Shostakovich Concerto for Piano, Trumpet, and Strings with Angela Cheng, Maestro Mario Bernardi and the CBC Vancouver Orchestra as well as a crossover CD with renowned pianist, arranger, conductor, and now 'Senator' Tommy Banks. He also intends to continue as an exclusive Yamaha artist, a relationship that began with his first professional horn in 1982. Beginning in 2002 at the esteemed Banff Centre for the Arts, Jens will be part of an exclusive summer program. Along with such noted artists as bass virtuoso Edgar Meyer, Jens will be heading a program designed to foster and refine concert and career approaches for soloists and chamber ensembles. Jens is also fielding many other different offers and will make regular announcements on his web site: http://www.trumpetsolo.com. "It has become clear that the next step for me is to return to my international solo career, and although my time with the Canadian Brass has been rewarding, I can no longer ignore the many opportunities that have presented themselves to me as a solo artist, writer, and teacher. The great tradition of the ensemble will continue to entertain audiences and I am proud to have been a part of this musical icon and had the opportunity to record 9 CDs and play more than 600 concerts for over a million people since 1996. I look forward to communicating with all of you through my new web site." - Jens Lindeman
