Barbara Butler and Charles Geyer, trumpet professors at Northwestern University and former teachers at the Eastman School of Music, presented a concert and master classes at Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri in January of 2001. The duo performed a recital of solo and duet trumpet music and also joined the Truman Trumpet Ensemble, under the direction of Truman trumpet professor Gregory Jones, in performance. Masterclasses featured performances by Truman students and comments on careers in music for trumpet players by the guests.
