| Hall Wins Concerto Competition | September 12, 2001 |

| Ashley Hall, 2001 ITG Solo Competition winner, was selected for one of the four trumpet seats at the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara, CA. Ashley entered the concerto competition, performing the Arutunian Concerto for Trumpet and Orchestra, and was selected as 1 of 5 winners featured as soloists at the annual Concerto Night, July 28. During the summer festival, she received trumpet instruction from James Thompson, Adolph "Bud" Herseth, and the Canadian Brass. Ashley will continue her trumpet performance studies this fall at the University of Cincinnati Conservatory of Music under the instructional guidance of Marie Speziale.
