| Chicago trumpeter and Northwestern University faculty member Luther Didrickson passed away July 31, 2001, after an heroic battle with cancer. He served on the faculty at Northwestern University for 34 years and was an active trumpeter in the Chicago area. He performed regularly with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Lyric Opera, Grant Park Symphony, Peninsula Music Festival, Brassworks, prominent ballet companies and many chamber music ensembles. He will be remembered by friends, students and colleagues for his congeniality, knowledge and devotion to his profession. He is survived by his wife, violist Sally Didrickson. More to follow...
