 | | Dr. Joel Treybig | Dr. Joel Treybig has been appointed to the music faculty at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, where he will teach undergraduate and graduate trumpet students, along with serving as director the USM trumpet ensemble. He previously served on the faculty at Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, OH.
Treybig has earned degrees from the Baldwin-Wallace College Conservatory of Music (B.M.E.), University of Akron (M.M.), and University of Texas at Austin (D.M.A.). In addition, Treybig studied the cornet and trumpet of late 19th and 20th centuries with Murray Greig at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, England. His major teachers have also included Raymond Crisara, James Darling, Scott Johnston, and Mary Squire.
