On Saturday, November 18, HBO premiered a film based on the life of Cuban trumpeter Arturo Sandoval, including the story of his life in Cuba, defection to the United States, relationship with his wife, and more. The film begins with Sandoval and Dizzy Gillespie performing in a club in Athens, Greece, shortly before his defection and explores his career both before and subsequent to that time.
