John Korak has been appointed Interim Book Review Editor of the ITG Journal. Korak replaces Mathew Woodward, who served as Book Review Editor since 1997. Korak is in his fifth year as assistant professor of music at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where he teaches applied trumpet, brass chamber music, brass methods, and conducts the university concert band.
Korak received a D.M.A. in trumpet performance from the University of North Texas, where he was a student of Leonard Candelaria. He has performed with the Mexico City Philharmonic, Dallas Bach Society, Texas Wind Symphony, Saint Louis Brass Ensemble, and American Kantorei. He is the author of Giuseppe Conconce: The Complete Solfeggi and is a member of Who's Who, Pi Kappa Lambda Music Honor Society, Alpha Chi Honor Society, and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.
