Mike Vax and Clark Terry"A fire-breathing Kentonian meets a legendary Ellingtonian in this superb disc of hot and cool jazz that revisits the key role of the trumpet in the evolution of jazz," notes Todd Jenkins in the liner notes to Creepin' with Clark.Mike Vax, who has performed and/or recorded with such greats as Stan Kenton, Art Pepper, Al Grey, Freddy Hubbard, John Handy, and more, takes center stage on a recording with a living legend - Clark Terry. This was "a recording in the making for 40 years" says Vax. Captured by engineering great Phil Edwards, the recording session turned into a joyous occasion for everyone involved.
