Bach Vintage Trumpet Reminisces on the '30s

For a limited time, The Selmer Company is reintroducing the Vintage Bach Stradivarius trumpet, a replica of the Vincent Bach trumpets made famous in the late 1920s and early 1930s. The commemorative Vintage trumpet is a tribute to the noted musician and engineer Vincent Bach (1890-1976) who developed the most advanced trumpet designs of the era. The Vintage trumpet incorporates hex-style slide pull knobs and wider bracing to recreate the visual style associated with such famous musicians as Harry Glantz, George Mager, F.E. Olds, Elden Benge and mouthpiece maker Frank Zottola. Only 2,000 of this limited edition Model 198 Vintage trumpet will be produced. Each Vintage trumpet is sold with a certificate of authenticity.

The Vintage trumpet features lightweight one-piece bell construction with a #6 bell flare, using gold brass for a warmer tone quality. A longer mouthpiece receiver delivers a Bach Mt. Vernon appearance, while the sound and feel of the '30s is attributed to the use of #6 lead pipe. With a .459" medium-large bore and lightweight body and bell, the Vintage trumpet has quick response and is easy to play. Gemstone finger buttons and a handsome silver-plated finish with gold-plated trim protects and adorns the instrument.

UMI Adds Professional Gig Bags Trumpet Cases To Accessories Line

United Musical Instruments U.S.A. Inc. has added Pro-Plus Gig Bags to its line of accessories.

"These black Cordura professional gig bags feature heavy-duty adjustable shoulder straps, accessory pouches, reinforced leather handles, high density padding and zipper closures," says Stephen Allen, UMI accessories product manager. "They're especially convenient for musicians who are on the road."

Pro-Plus Gig Bags are available for single trumpet, triple trumpet, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, French horn, tenor trombone and bass trombone. The multi-instrument cases are really great for musicians who are called on to play many different genres of music in a single session.

"Also, we've added the new 7910L Pro-Plus double trumpet case to our lineup this spring," says Allen. "This neat new double trumpet case joins the 7900L Pro-Plus trumpet case to give our customers more choices in how they protect their horns."

"Both of these fine cases protect the instruments with their sturdy construction and luxurious plush covered interiors," says Allen. "These cases were engineered to cushion your trumpets at home and on the road." Both of these cases are available with new case covers, the 7690 case cover, which fits the 7900L case, and the 7691L, which fits the 7910L case.
