The Spanish Brass Luur Metalls premiered Karel Husa's Concerto for Brass Quintet and String Orchestra in Europe with the Valencia Symphony Orchestra in the spring of 1999. In addition, Divertimento for Brass Ensemble and Percussion by Karel Husa was performed in Spain in November 1999. The performances were given by the sections of the Spanish National Youth Orchestra in Valencia, Magalia, Salamanca, Zamora, and Segovia. The young musicians were coached by members of the Spanish Brass Luur Metalls and conducted by Carlos Beneto.
