The year 2000 Democratic National Convention (USA) was held the week of August 14th in Los Angeles, California, at the new Staples Center. The band was conducted by Harold Wheeler and contracted by Bill Hughes. The trumpet section was Fred Irby, Bob Findley, Nolan Shaheed, and section leader George Graham.
As the bandstand was positioned directly above the speaker's podium, it was necessary to go through three levels of security just to get to the music. It was an interesting week.
