The University of Michigan has appointed Bill Campbell to the position of Associate Professor of Trumpet, effective September of 2000. Campbell has been Professor of Trumpet at The Ohio State University for the past four years and prior to that appointment he served in the same capacity at the University of Kansas. For seven years Campbell served as Principal Trumpet with l'Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino under the direction of Zubin Mehta, at that time the Artistic Director of the orchestra. Campbell has also performed as guest Principal Trumpet with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra, Columbus Symphony Orchestra and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra.
