After 35 years playing 2nd trumpet to some of Australia's finest first trumpeters, Peter Walmsley is retiring from the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. He will be finishing in January next year and is looking forward to increasing his activities at Barker College, 25 km. north of Sydney. Also now retired is Glenn Madden, Principal Trumpet of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and a founding member of the Australian Trumpet Guild. Christopher Perrin recently accepted the position of Lecturer in Trumpet at the Australian Institute of Music (AIM). A former member of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation National Training Orchestra, Christopher's extensive experience includes periods with the State Orchestra of Victoria and the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra. He has taught trumpet in Australia and the USA. His addition to the staff of AIM will add greatly to the range of courses available.
