Circus Trumpeters in Scandinavia December 14, 2002
While snow still fills the air, and ankle-deep slush covers the ground, the circuses start their season along the icy roads of Scandinavia - tiny, drafty caravans for the workers and musicians, better caravans for the animals, and artists.

Gilbert Johnson (1927 - 2002) September 14, 2002
Gilbert Johnson died Sunday, September 8 of kidney cancer at the age of 74. Johnson was the solo trumpet of the Philadelphia Orchestra under Eugene Ormandy from 1958-1975, a two-time Grammy Award winner, and Professor of Trumpet at the University of Miami from 1975 to the present.
