Here are some Frequently Asked Questions about contact with ITG News:

1. Should I expect a reply?

Yes. Most email (or other contact) is acknowledged promptly, often on receipt. We do have other jobs, though, and things can slip through the net, so if you feel that a reply is overdue please write again. Correspondence which appears to be routine press releases rather than specifically for ITG News may not be acknowledged. Please note that we do also have holidays/vacations! Long absences or illnesses are usually noted, when possible, on the News Editor's Welcome and Musings page.

2. I can't click the Editor's and Correspondents' names on the ITG News Contacts page. What now?

There are graphical and non-clickable text versions on the Other Versions page that may help you.

3. I think your ITG News address is broken. Is there an alternative?

Sorry, not at the moment (March/April 2008) during a changeover period, but there may well be again.

4. Why have you made all these changes with the clickable links and the odd displays of addresses?

The ITG news addresses are receiving rather a lot of mail that has little to do with trumpet news.

5. I have a story of immediate importance and all ITG News staff are unavailable - what can I do?

Please contact the ITG Website Executive Director or the ITG Journal Editor (please see the main ITG Contacts page). In emergency they will deal with news stories which absolutely cannot wait.

6. Is my story suitable for publication?

Pending the development of separate guidelines, please have a look at the notes about "Other duplicate areas policy change/clarification" and "CD announcement policy change" on the Welcome page. These may help guide you as to what stories are likely to be accepted.

7. You haven't covered my question here, what shall I do?

Please send your question to the News Editors. Thank you.
