Incoming president Kim Dunnick has announced two appointees to the ITG Board of Directors whose terms will begin October 1, 2011 and run through September 30, 2015. We are pleased to name the following two individuals to the ITG Board and look forward to their unique perspectives and contributions:
Brian Evans plays in the Australia Opera and Ballet Orchestra in Sydney. He is a founding member and president of the Australian Trumpet Guild, and has been on the ITG Board previously and most recently served as ITG Secretary. More information on Brian Evans can be found at www.thebrassstudio.netfirms.com
Vladislav Lavrik is Principal Trumpet of the Russian National Orchestra in Moscow. He has been a frequent guest soloist and recitalist, as well as a member of the jury of the 2008 and 2009 National Trumpet Competitions in Washington, D.C. More information is available at: www.vladlavrik.com/
In order to ensure more international diversity, the ITG Bylaws allow each president to appoint two non-North American members to the Board of Directors for four-year terms. These appointees are members with full rights and privileges, of course. With a new president every two years, the maximum number of appointees is four. The terms are staggered, as each appointee serves for four years, so two end their terms every two years and two more are appointed. The appointees may be reappointed.
