John Pursell

Dr. John Pursell performed as the featured guest soloist in July 2009 with both the Hagerstown Municipal Band in Hagerstown, Maryland, and the Maryland Defense Force Band in Baltimore. The Hagerstown concert was the Independence Day celebration, and Dr. Pursell performed for over 2500 people. At each concert, he performed a new arrangement of J B Arban's Variations on a Song, The Beautiful Snow, arranged for him by Jari Villaneuva. Dr. Pursell is the Assistant Professor of Trumpet at Gettysburg College and is retired from his position as the Senior Ceremonial Trumpeter with the United States Air Force Band in Washington, DC. He has performed as a Yamaha Trumpet Artist & Clinician since 2003.
