Friedman conducts Blechcircus

In March 2009 Stanley Friedman conducted the 10-piece brass/percussion ensemble Blechcircus during a tour of Austria. The performance venues included concert halls in Andelsbuch, Kitzbuehel and Bregenz. In addition to original works by ensemble members Roche Jenny and lead trumpeter Johannes Baer, the concerts featured two major compositions by Friedman: La Pittura (with trumpet soloist Bernhard Baer) and the world premiere of Delosian Dreams (commissioned by Blechcircus). Future international tours are being planned.

Dr. Friedman also presented master classes at the Vorarlberger Landeskonservatorium in Feldkirch, Austria (trumpet studios of Lothar Hilbrand and Herbert Walser-Breuss), the Hochschule der Künste in Bern, Switzerland (trumpet studios of Markus Wuersch and Markus Ulrich) and at the Anton Bruckner Institute in Linz, Austria (trumpet studio of Bernhard Baer).
