| AUSTIN, TEXAS – March 6, 2009 – Jupiter Band Instruments, Inc. and the National Trumpet Competition (NTC) have established the Jupiter Band Instruments Young Artists Endowment. The endowment will aid the long-term development goals of the NTC and allow it to better serve the young artists by improving the website and the prize infrastructure.
Both the NTC and Jupiter value a long term, continuing education program for young artists and their professional development. Since Jupiter’s release of the XO professional horns in 2007, their participation with the NTC has grown. The newly established endowment fosters the educational component of Jupiter’s mission statement to be an advocate of music education for all, while providing resources and support for teachers and students. Boston Brass, who act as Educational Ambassadors for Jupiter, are the honorary chairmen for the Endowment.
“Jupiter’s contribution to this endowment is a great step for the future of the NTC and the advancement of music performance and education,” said Dr. Denny Edelbrock, Executive Director of the NTC. “We’re excited about the partnership and how it will enrich future opportunities for players all over the world. By adding to the storage capacity of the NTC website, the Endowment support will enable NTC to enhance the potential to reach every trumpet player in the world with educational 'online' master classes from many of the world’s. . . artists.”
The NTC is the world’s largest instrument competition. Over the past 17 years, NTC has provided performing opportunities for over 4,000 young trumpet players and enriched the professional credentials and experience of nearly 300 of the nation’s teachers.
