The fifth International Music Course Vila de L’Olleria occured this last year. The week-long course is an opportunity for both advanced- and elementary-level students to study with and connect with renowned faculty on their brass instruments, connect with other players from many countries, and hear music from a variety of prominent brass artists. This year, students came from Spain, France, Peru, Italy, and Colombia. This year's trumpet faculty included Eric Aubier, Uwe Koeller, Gabrielle Cassone, and José Cháfer (director of CIMVO.)
A concert series featuring brass music has run parallel to the course. This year featured Mnozil Brass and the Bones Apart Trombone Quartet.
Along with the the aforementioned opportunities, the course also has a musical instrument exposition (featuring Stomvi, La Caixa, Yamaha, Antoine Courtois, Musical Aldave, RGC Mutes, Romera Brass, Jupiter, B&S, and the Sanganxa Music Store,) a lecture on the psychological aspects of performing, and masterclasses with guest artists.
The course is sponsored by the city council of L’Olleria, and also worked with the S.E.M. Santa Cecilia and other organizations.
