On the weekend of August 23, Sergei Nakariakov performed with the Orchestra of the City of Liege in the Theatro Municipal and in a solo recital in the Imperial City of Petropolis in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

In his performance with the Orchestra of the City of Liege, Nakariakov performed an arrangement of the Concerto for Trumpet by Joseph Haydn for which he played Bb Trumpet followed by an encore arrangement of "Air on a G-String" by J.S. Bach in which he played flugelhorn.

For the solo recital hosted by the Sociedade Artistica Villa-Lobos, Nakariakov joined with pianist Maria Meerovitch in a program that featured works from Torchinsky, Faure, Chopin, Arban, Schumann, Rachmaninov, and Poulenc.  The recital featured both performers with both trumpet and piano solos being featured.  An appreciative audience met with both performers after the concert for hot chocolate and equally warm conversation.  Much to the delight of the members of the Sociedade Artistica Villa-Lobos, Nakariakov and Meerovitch spent time after the concert talking casually with the hosts and audience members of the concert.
