James West (Associate Professor of Trumpet, Louisiana State University) visited the University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg, Kentucky on January 30-31, 2008. Mr. West conducted masterclasses and guest lectures with area high school and university students and culminated his visit as guest soloist with the UC Concert Band. The program included the first movement from Haydn's Trumpet Concerto. Patrick Tuck (University of the Cumberlands) and Tom MacFarland (Union University) joined Mr. West on stage for a performance of Bugler's Holiday by Leroy Anderson (see photo). Sean Greene (University of the Cumberlands) conducted the UC Concert Band.
